We are currently recruiting for a number of positions:
UKCC or ASA qualified swimming teachers
NPLQ qualified lifeguards
Poolside Assistants
Venue Coordinators
Anyone interested in getting involved in swimming teaching (initially no qualifications required)
We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic people to join the Big Blue team.
Our lessons cater for swimmers from 3 years right up to adults.
Job descriptions:
1. UKCC or ASA qualified swimming teachers
We expect all our swimming teachers to hold formal teaching qualifications
Previous experience is beneficial but not necessary.
Ability to assist with classes or independently teach a class.
2. NPLQ qualified lifeguards
Lifeguarding of swimming lesson sessions.
Maintaining safety on poolside
Ensuring poolside remains tidy with all equipment in the correct place and not posing a safety risk.
Particular emphasise on the supervision of lower ability classes.
3. Poolside Coordinator
Signing in and directing children to classes.
Tidying of poolside between classes to ensure maximum safety.
Dealing with customer queries on poolside.
Basic first aid experience beneficial but not required.
Carrying out basic cleaning of the changing areas.
4. Anyone interested in getting involved in swimming teaching
Working with qualified UKCC level 2 teachers to assist in classes both in and out of the water. This will usually be in preschool or beginner 1 classes.
Helping out on poolside where required with parents and children.
Working towards the UKCC level 1 qualification.
*All positions require a minimum age of 16 years.
*Candidates will be required to attend an interview and trial. Successful candidates will undergo an induction prior to starting with Big Blue.
*All candidates will be enrolled in the PVG scheme.
